Greece

I just uploaded some picture from Greece….I won’t write much about this trip…just because I’m too lazy

So basically …we went to Thessaloniki first…and visited my best friend Matoula…haven’t seen her since 2000…she is married now with 2 kids :) I really miss you girl

She lives in Kozani…its about 2 hours drive from Thessaloniki. When we were there, we visited several places in that province (Macedonia) such as Meteora with the monasteries on the top of the rock towers and Kastoria which is famous for the fur coat production.

We planned to see more but the weather wasn’t good…it was cold and rained and when we visited Matoula’s parent in the village…it even snowed there!

Matoula’s husband -Anton – was so kind and drove us around even with the language barrier….but somehow…Volker and Anton understand each other…of course..there were much Uozo involved

So we stayed at Matoula’s for a week and then went back to Thessalonik for two days before we were off to Athen. We stayed 4 nights there but mostly we stayed in the hotel. We got a really beautiful room with the perfect view to the Acropolis….really romantic and fortunately finally we got nice weather…not really warm but ok…about 18 degree….but still rained in the evening..so one day…we went to the Acropolis and the surrounding area…..and one day of course…shopping And the rest of the day we spent in the hotel…tried all the restaurants and bars at Hilton Athen and just being lazy in our room

Oh before I forget…Athen or Thessaloniki is not a pleasant place to stroll the baby with the buggy…the street are kinda small for buggies…and also…if you like to walk…all the important places are within walk distance (at least for us who accustomed to walk everywhere) , so it is not necessary to take a taxi or subway. And apropos taxi….be careful…you have to ask the price first before you get in because the driver will ask for more money than what’s on the taxi meter.

I think pictures say more than thousands words…so please check it out
